Does Yatra take a markup on the per-message cost?
No. You configure your Meta Cloud API credentials in Yatra; messages flow directly between your WordPress and Meta. Meta bills you. Yatra never sees the conversation cost beyond logging Meta's API response.
What's the Meta approval process actually like?
Setting up a Cloud API app + verifying business takes 1–2 weeks end-to-end. Template approval after that is 24–48h per template. Yatra ships pre-approved-style templates so you can start with bundled ones while custom templates are reviewed.
Will WhatsApp customers get spam if I onboard?
Meta is strict — only customers who initiate contact OR who you message via a pre-approved template within 24h of their own activity. The booking confirmation message is allowed because the customer's booking IS the opt-in.
Does this work for transactional + marketing messages?
Transactional: yes (booking confirmations, payment receipts). Marketing messages (promo campaigns): possible via Meta's marketing template category, but rate-limited and opt-in-strict. Recommend keeping marketing in email; transactional in WhatsApp.
